LEILOLAI is a fresh super duo Christina Cáceres and Lesly'YOGISP'Kühr. The duo met via Myspace music in 2005, and started working together after both moving to NYC in 2006. They released their self produced album in the fall of 2007 (LEILOLAI 'Best of'). This duo has been receiving a lot attention by the NYC independent/underground music scene and teaming up with other NYC based groups.
Last year they have been performing all over NYC which includes venues like Nublu, Tribeca Film Festival at 92Y, Lit Lounge, the Glasslands Gallery, Cameo (secret space), The Trash Bar, Arlenes Grocery and many warehouse underground parties. They were also invited to perform live on WFMU 91.1 Beastin' The Airwaves with DJ host Keili and featured on Japanese national TV for NHK program 'New York Wave' In addition to all of this fun they were invited to join the Toilet Records Artist Collective where they were filmed and recorded for the 'Live 282 Toilet Sessions', and played in the 5 Eyes Music Festival in Williamsburg. Leilolai has also been featured in NYC's DIY and music blogs such as The Deli Music Magazine and the Culture of Me.
Latest: Leilolai's sophmore album is finished and getting ready for release! Leilolai had their first European gig in Belgium as a featured guest of the legendary krautrock band Faust.
We are happy to debut the 282 Toilet Sessions, wherein we invite local up and coming bands to Toilet Records’ 282 North Henry Studio to perform and record an exclusive live set. The live sets will be released monthly here on the site, high quality, free MP3 downloads. The goal of 282 is to capture and showcase the band’s live set by focusing on producing the highest quality recording without any editing or over dubbing.
